2,205 Black Lives

Wow. Police killed 29 African Americans in 2014. I guess somehow, with all the BLM protesting, I expected that number to be much greater. I mean, not to be too coarse about it but that's a number that's less than the number of killed and wounded in San Bernardino by the ISIS couple last week.

Black Lives Matter, right?

Now, having come across this: According to FBI data Blacks were responsible for killing 2,205 other Blacks in 2014. Now that's an alarmingly high number. And it's about 76 times more than the police tally.

But Black Lives Matter, right?

I'm asking again: do Black Lives really Matter to other Black folk? If so, why is this number so high?

I'm just asking. Because until a coherent answer is found, it seems to me to be a classic case of "physician heal thyself".

Preach when you've a REAL sermon. Protest when you've got a REAL moral argument.

I need to put a sign up outside my house, or better yet, carry around a placard with the number 2,205 on it. Wonder if I'll get any media attention.

America is a gun-totin' nation

The simple answer to gun violence in America is two-fold: #1) we will need a moral, peace-loving citizenry. #2) we will need an armed citizenry.

Number 2 is needed in case Number 1 breaks down.

Unfortunately, in today's America, with morals having been greatly regressed, the peace that inevitably ensues when moral people dwell together has been disturbed. The Judeo-Christian moral fabric has been torn nearly in two. We have alarmingly high rates of domestic killings and we even have foreigners/immigrants killing Americans on American soil. The foundation of the law is cracked, and now even bedrock Constitutional rights are under assault.

The politics of our response to this problem is almost unbelievable. I shudder when I consider that there are many who agree with the President and the Left on the notion that disarming citizens and taking away their 2nd Amendment rights will protect citizens. Moreover, the idea that fewer guns among an immoral people will protect people is ludicrous.

And while I'm not a big fan of Ted Cruz, he's on top of it with this quote:

"Unfortunately, the goal of both President Obama and Hillary Clinton, is to consistently–at every turn–to look to weaken the constitutional rights of American citizens...to undermine our constitutional right to keep and bear arms. You don’t get rid of the bad guys by getting rid of our guns. You get rid of the bad guys by using our guns..."

I'm all for peace and safety, but it cannot be had among an immoral people without force. Whether by law and order, or by the  private projection and use of force, peace simply cannot be had nor maintained any other way.
